Gloves, Chemical Resistant, Chemotherapy

Definition : Chemical-resistant gloves designed to protect the hands against chemotherapy drugs by offering a high resistance to permeation by antineoplastic agents. These gloves are typically made of thick plastics (e.g., nitrile, neoprene) or butyl rubber; some are made of combined layers of latex and neoprene; they are available in pairs as sterile and nonsterile products. Chemotherapy-agent-resistant gloves are used by healthcare personnel (e.g., oncologists, oncology nurses, pharmacy and laboratory technicians) for protection during the handling and transport of chemotherapy drugs or for cleaning, decontamination, and transport of patients and objects contaminated with this type of drugs.
