Definition : Surgical knives designed for cutting tissues, bone, and/or other anatomic structures during amputation procedures. These devices consist of manual, sturdy, handheld instruments of a variety of geometric shapes and sizes. They usually have a straight or curved handle and a single or double edge, are frequently serrated with a cutting blade at its distal tip. Amputation surgical knives are used for amputation of the limbs.
