IVD Test Reagent/Kits, Molecular Assay, Infection, Virus, Hepatitis A, RNA
Definition : Molecular assay reagents intended to identify hepatitis A virus, a member of the family Picornaviridae, by detecting the ribonucleic acid (RNA) of the target virus. Hepatitis A virus may cause hepatitis, a disease characterized by jaundice and the increase of some enzymes in serum (e.g., aspartate aminotransferase); these viruses are almost exclusively transmitted by the fecal-oral route or via contaminated food or water, although parenteral transmission is possible.
