Definition : Microbiology reagents intended to identify species of Brucella, a genus of coccobacillus bacteria, by detecting the target bacteria, usually through tests performed on bacteria cultures. A species of these bacteria is the etiologic agent of brucellosis; these bacteria may also cause respiratory tract infections in humans.
