Clamps, Surgical, Liver
Definition : Surgical clamps designed to atraumatically grasp the liver during open-surgery procedures. These clamps typically are handheld, manual instruments including two parts pivoted at the center with very long and slightly curved distal blades and handles that include a ratchet mechanism. Some clamps have a locking device at the distal end. Dedicated liver clamps are available for liver transplant and/or for resection of portions of the liver.
