Radiotherapy Systems, Neutron Beam
Definition : Radiotherapy systems designed to deliver a beam of neutrons. These systems include a source of neutrons that is based on one of several technologies (e.g., cyclotrons, linear accelerators), a control unit, and appropriate filters and collimators. Neutron-beam radiotherapy systems are designed to emit high-energy fast neutrons, a low-energy flux (epithermal neutrons)--usually for boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT)--or a combination of both types of radiation. This therapy is currently used in some selected clinical applications
