Sialoscopes

Definition : Endoscopes designed for insertion through the natural orifice or through a surgical opening into the salivary duct for visual examination, biopsy, and removal or crushing of stones. Sialoendoscopes consist of an outer sheath and exploratory and/or surgical units to introduce forceps, stone baskets, graspers, and other miniature instruments typically 1 mm or less in diameter.
