Definition : Monitors designed to continuously measure and display one or more parameters (e.g., temperature, pressure) from a distant location through a radio link (i.e., without a hardwired connection). These monitors are typically a patient-worn device with a transmitter, an antenna, attached sensors (e.g., leads, electrodes), and a receiver at a central station that can receive, consolidate, process, record, and display information from one or several locations.
