Reagents, Immunoassay, Autoimmune, Goodpasture Disease Antibody
Definition : Immunoassay reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative analyses on a body fluid sample (e.g., serum) to determine antibodies against the glomerular and alveolar basement membranes (i.e., Goodpasture antibodies), specifically against the globular domain of type IV collagen. Reagents for determination of these antibodies in serum are used in the diagnostic of Goodpasture disease, an autoimmune disorder characterized by progressive glomerulonephritis and, frequently, pulmonary hemorrhage.
