Definition : Immunoassay reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative analyses on a body fluid sample (e.g., serum) to determine circulating antibodies directed toward keratin (stratum corneum). Antikeratin antibodies (AKAs) are associated with erosive polyarthritis; its determination, frequently combined with the determination of rheumatoid factor antibodies, is used in the diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for early rheumatoid arthritis.
