Reagents, Clinical Chemistry, Catecholamine Metabolite
Definition : Clinical chemistry reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative chemical analyses on a body fluid sample (typically urine) to determine the level of catecholamine metabolites (e.g., vanillylmandelic and/or homovanillic acids). Increases levels of catecholamine metabolites in urine are associated with catecholamine secreting tumors. Determination of catecholamine metabolites is frequently performed using high-pressure liquid chromatography techniques.
