Driver/Extractors

Definition : Instruments designed to insert and extract implants and/or prostheses by applying force or torque during surgical or dental procedures. Driver/extractors are typically manual, handheld instruments with a working end that conforms to the device to be driven and a proximal end that can accept impact, pressure, or rotating forces according to the demands of the procedure. They are used mainly for the insertion and extraction of implants and prostheses (e.g., bone nails and pin, bone plates) during orthopedic procedures.
