Definition : Stimulators that apply light stimuli (e.g., flashes of light) to the patient. Photic stimulators basically consist of an electric energy source and a phototransducer to deliver the light stimuli. Most of these stimulators are used to elicit a measurable response for diagnostic, monitoring, or experimental purposes.
