Definition : Fixed beds designed for use by neonates. These beds typically consist of a plastic or stainless steel box with a resting surface that has a permanent, fixed height and contour. Neonatal beds are frequently attached to dressing tables and/or trolleys; they may be used for a period up to a few weeks after birth in healthcare facilities, especially in birthing and neonate rooms.
