Definition : Multitherapy systems designed to provide musculoskeletal treatments by means of several modules of different external energy sources. These systems usually consist of a central control unit and modular or integral sources of energy (e.g., shock wave generators, electrical stimulators, lasers) and appropriate leads and probes designed to apply the stimuli to the muscles and bones; the system may also include a common display (e.g., touch screen) and software using several protocols according to the type of energy to be applied.
