Definition : Chairs in which the patient rests on cushions containing air, water, gel, or an other appropriate material. Most are permeable to air and water vapor but not to liquids. These chairs are designed to treat patients who are at moderate to high risk of developing decubitus ulcers and whose clinical status requires high head elevation, frequent transfer, and/or ambulation.
