Domes, Pressure Transducer

Definition : Dedicated caps or connectors that couple with and fit on pressure transducers which are used to invasively monitor blood pressure or pressures of other liquids or gases. These domes can be various sizes and are usually made of sturdy plastic and feature one or more stopcocks to direct the flow of the liquid or gas onto a diaphragm or membrane whose deformation is sensed by various methods by the pressure transducer. Pressure transducer domes may be sterilizable or disposable.
