Chromatography Systems, Liquid, Packed Column, High-Pressure
Definition : Packed-column liquid chromatography systems that use a relatively high pressure to pump the liquid through the column and in which the stationary phase works with high efficiency (i.e., a high-performance packed column). These systems are usually classified according to the principle used in separating components; the most used techniques are adsorption chromatography, bonded-phase (or partition) chromatography (there are two types of bonded-phase technologies--normal phase and the more commonly used reverse phase), ion-exchange chromatography, and steric-exclusion (or gel permeation) chromatography.
