Definition : Power line receptacle testers designed to measure and assess the mechanical holding force between the outlets in a wall receptacle and the male prong of a plug. These testers include a tension-measuring device to assess the force and a display to show whether the measured value exceeds a predetermined safety value. Mechanical power line receptacle testers are used mainly to assess the holding force of the ground connection.
