Definition : Cardiac output units that measure the blood flow from the heart using the indicator dilution technique in which a radioisotope is injected upstream of the heart and monitored on the downstream side. These devices include a radioisotope detector and an electronic unit that processes the data from the detector and displays the cardiac output values.
