Tenderlett is a safe automated skin incision device for fingertip blood sampling. It offers design features and procedural directions that address the varied anatomy, physiology, and biology of adult, child and toddler fingers. Each Tenderlett device is engineered to incise to the least invasive yet effective depth that will reach the capillaries and small vessels in the finger. They have been carefully calibrated to substantially reduce pain and improve fingertip blood sampling. Optimal blood flow is achieved and sample contamination and hemolysis are minimized.
When the device is triggered, a surgical steel blade swiftly protracts at an angle of 30 degrees, produces an incision in only the uppermost vasculature of the finger, and then automatically retracts. The permanently retracting blade eliminates danger and contamination hazards.
