Heel and Elbow Pads

Company : E-A-R Specialty Composites

UMDC Code : 176121

When a long-term care patient remains in the same position for long periods, pressure and friction on the skin increase the possibility of the occurrence of decubitus ulcers, commonly called pressure wounds or bed sores. Where tissue lies just over a bone—elbow, heel or tailbone, for example—the weight of the patient's body presses on the bone, the bone presses on the tissue and skin that cover it, and the tissue is trapped between the bone structure and bed or wheelchair surface.
