DermaNew started when Amby Longhofer and Dean Rhoades introduced microdermabrasion to their clients in their Beverly Hills salon. As the popularity of professional microdermabrasion grew, Dean and Amby saw the need for clients who may not be able to afford the costly treatments, or those who wanted to accelerate the effects of the professional services they were receiving, to perform microdermabrasion at home.
They also saw a need for an affordable, effective system for the professional salons and spas that could not afford the space or expense of a large microdermabrasion machine. Dean and Amby began creating an at-home microdermabrasion system that would deliver and maintain the results of professional treatments in a simple and affordable manner.
