The PS Medical Delta® valve is designed to minimize overdrainage of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and maintain intraventricular pressure (IVP) within a normal physiologic range, regardless of patient position. The normally closed Delta chamber mechanism opens in response to positive ventricular pressure. Working with the membrane valve, this mechanism minimizes overdrainage by utilizing the principles of hydrodynamic leverage.

The Equi-FlowT valve is an advanced valve system designed to maintain physiological CSF pressure independent of patient orientation. By incorporating the Siphon Limiting Device (SLD), this patented valve design limits reduction of IVP caused by siphoning in the distal catheter. The Equi-Flow valve has an injectable central reservoir, as well as promixal and distal occluders, all with nonmetallic components. The Equi-flow valve is available in two sizes and four pressure designations to accommodate the requirements of different patients.

Regulates physiological flow within normal ranges of Intraventricular Pressure (IVP) in the supine, sitting or standing position.
The integral normally-open Physiological Flow Device works in combination with our valve to more closely maintain IVP within normal limits, while minimizing overdrainage.
Straight-flow through path simplifies de-bubbling prior to implantation.
Horizontally mounted silicone/polysulfone valve mechanism and rigid housing protects the diaphragm from accidental needle puncture during CSF sampling and flushing.

Mature patients over sixty, exhibiting gait disturbance, dementia and urinary incontinence may not be suffering from Alzheimer’s or other neurodegenerative disorders, but from Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). The cause of this debilitating condition is unclear. But many clinicians cite an abnormal accumulation of CSF that dilates and enlarges the ventricles, unnaturally stretching delicate cerebral nerve tissue. NPH does not measurably increase ICP, so unlike most hydrocephalus, it can easily go undetected.

The OSV II® Smart ValveT System is the intelligent choice for meeting the complex demands of hydrocephalus shunting.
Introduced in 1987, the Orbis-Sigma® valve was the first valve to manage hydrocephalus through flow-regulation rather than conventional differential-pressure regulation. The valve operates a unique, 3-stage, variable resistance mechanism that regulates flow through the valve (stage III) at a rate close to that of CSF secretion, therefore minimizing the risks of under or overdrainage. The same clinically-proven design is the mechanism used in the new OSV II valve, with the addit
