Medtronic, Inc. has introduced the world's first minimally-invasive epicardial lead placement tool. The Medtronic Model 10626 epicardial lead implant Tool, which has been cleared for marketing in the United States, will expand the options available to implanting physicians who place the Medtronic Model 5071 lead on the heart during pacemaker implants. The tool furthers the trend moving away from invasive sternotomy procedures.
