This program of cannulated screws offers a wide range of diameters and lengths. They are all self-tapping and self-drilling to simplify the operation and reduce the surgical time. Their surface is specially treated to avoid tissue attachment. To make a later metal removal even easier, these screws have also a reverse self-cut.

Cannulated screws are designed to be inserted over guide pins and provide several potential benefits over standard screws especially the precision with which they can be placed. Guide pins can be used for provisional fracture fixation, facilitating accurate fracture reduction before definitive fixation with screws. In addition, the guide pins can be placed percutaneously with potential benefits of decreased surgical morbidity.
Most noncannulated screws of comparable size differ little in thread pitch, thread height, thread length, and major diameter to core diameter ratio. In contrast, cannula

Smith & Nephew offers a wide variety of cannulated screw products. Systems are available in 4.0, 5.5, 6.5, and 7.0 mm diameters with implants both in stainless steel and titanium. Most screw sizes are available in both partially threaded and fully threaded versions. Additionally, our cannulated hip pins (6.86 mm diameter) offer similar design properties but feature a captured external hex design popular for SCFE and femoral head or neck fractures.
Stainless steel is typically the product of preference as it optimizes both strength and biocompatibility. Titanium is the material of choice when g
