Sloan letters have become one of the leading and most trusted optotypes used in vision testing today. These optotypes have been engineered to be precise, reliable, and repeatable. Sloan letters follow the idea of the Snellen 5x5 grid and have a uniform size and dimension. Furthermore, each Sloan letter is equally difficult to the others and have an equal blur at threshold. Sloan optotypes are designed to provide an equal test from start to finish

This slide features three separate charts for accurate and precise vision testing. These charts all feature similar calibration, making the nearly interchangeable. Patti Pics, PV Numbers and Sloan optotypes are calibrated to the Snellen 5x5 grid, and show equal blurs at threshold and difficulty levels. Each optotype has been specifically chosen to yield the best results for vision testing. The use of all three types in a single slide makes the slide nearly universal and great for clinics with large and diverse patient populations.

This slide features a great combination of Patti Pics optotypes for pediatric testing, along with traditional Sloan optotypes for adult testing. Also, because Patti Pics optotypes were designed from the principles of Sloan letters, the transition from pediatric to adult testing for patients is now more accurate. There is less mistaken loss or gain of lines during the transition making results more accurate, reliable and repeatable.

PV Numbers are a great way to test vision in multiple languages. Even patients not familiar with the Roman alphabet can distinguish numbers. This helps to make testing much easier and more reliable. PV Numbers are also coupled with Traditional Sloan optotypes for further testing. Sloan letters are highly calibrated to a 5x5 Snellen grid and have equal blurs at thresholds, and difficulty scores. This helps to make testing much more accurate. This is a great slide for clinics with a wide and diverse population of patients.
